Girl Scouts
The Kake Studio by Kara Kakes offers Girl Scouts the opportunity to earn one of their badges, or simply to enjoy the company of their troop and learn something new! These programs have been designed by our team to teach the girls professional cake decorating skills, as well as the importance of creativity and self-expression. Whether your girls are thinking of owning their own bakery when they grow up, planning to attend culinary school, or simply want “Wow” everyone at their next bake sale, they will all leave with a better understanding of the art of cake decorating.
Standard Program
Girl Scout Decorating Class
We offer a Girl Scouts Decorating Party perfect for ANY occasion! This unforgettable class offers the girls a unique bonding experience that will also help to build new skills in the kitchen. Guests are first encouraged to decorate their own chef hats and cupcake boxes. We then move on to a decorating lesson from a Kara Kakes certified cake decorator who will explain the different types of piping tips, decorating techniques, and frosting methods we use at the bakery. Each guest will then frost, decorate, and sprinkle their very own classic cupcakes! Troop leaders are allotted 15 minutes at the end of our activities for closing statements. Up to 10 children $200, $20 per additional guest.

Clover Petal (1 hour, 15 minutes)
Resourcefulness is key for cake decorators! Join us in learning how to make extraordinary cupcake designs using ordinary snacks and decorating materials. The girls will first be given their own chef hats and cupcake boxes to decorate. We then move on to a decorating lesson from a Kara Kakes certified cake decorator who will explain the different types of piping tips, decorating techniques, and frosting methods we use at the bakery. Each guest will then attempt to frost, decorate, and sprinkle their very own classic cupcakes to match examples provided by our staff. While the girls will be taught the basics, the completed designs will not be demonstrated. It will be up to the girls to use their provided resources carefully! Up to 10 children $250, $25 per additional guest.
Business Owner Badge (1 hour, 15 minutes)
Have some future cake decorators or bakery owners in your troop? Join us for an informative class aimed at helping the girls earn their Business Owner badge! Learn the ins and outs of what it takes to run a successful bakery, as well as what it means to provide excellent customer service. Next, guests will be given their own chef hats and cupcake boxes to decorate. We then move on to a decorating lesson from a Kara Kakes certified cake decorator who will explain the different types of piping tips, decorating techniques, and frosting methods we use at the bakery. Each guest will then frost, decorate, and sprinkle their very own classic cupcakes! Up to 10 children $250, $25 per additional guest.
